Dry Shampoo: Ojon Hair Rub-out Dry Cleanser & Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo Spray
I don't wash my hair everyday because it would even further aggravate my hair texture which if you've been following my blog, you know is wavy, curly, frizzy and crazy. I wash my hair every third day. By doing this, I also help maintain my hair color between salon appointments. As a Flight Attendant, I've been on flight assignments that have lasted five days with 4am wake up calls or working night flights one after another with only 10 hours in between flights or I've traveled overseas where the water is way too harsh for my hair to wash and I need a hair lift between washings. Sometimes ladies sleep is more important than styling my hair especially if you've been peddling your ass on the road for almost a week and you have to stop and think about what city or time zone you are in.
To help me out I use dry shampoo. I cannot live without this. In the U.S there was a brand I used called Pssst! Dry Shampoo, it was excellent and cost under $5.00. Unfortunately, we don't get it in Canada. I have found an alternative which is Klorane Dry Shampoo and it is amazing. However, it too is hard to find and I am out...ugh!... story of my life. I did find the Ojon Hair Rub-Out Dry Cleanser and Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo Spray which are both available at Sephora. These products aren't amazing like the Klorane or Pssst! brand but, they do the trick.
I'm not crazy about the scent of either the Ojon or the Oscar Blandi. In my opinion, out of the two brands the Ojon smells better. My 'do' has lasted 4-5 days with these shampoos but I've gone that long only a few times. To use I simply spray at my roots and don't point the nozzle to close or else you get too much product on your hair and end up with white blobs. Wait a few minutes for product to dry and absorb then brush out or flip you hair over and with your fingers fluff out your roots. Voila! you are ready to style again and go. I have 2 bottles in my work carry-on luggage and a couple in my bathroom. Can't do without it.
If by chance you know of any dry shampoos that you've tried and really liked please let me know

Hey Nadia!! I can't wash my hair everyday either, it just makes it worse! And I think it sounds like I have the same hair type as you! This is a great blog post...I use Tresemme Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and so far so good, but I like to switch it up every so often so that my hair doesn't get used to one brand :) xoxo Anna
Hey Anna, glad this was helpful. Let me know if you try any dry shampoos. xox Nadia
I've never heard of dry shampoo but as my hair sound very similar to yours i'm eager to give it a go!! will have to find out if the products you've mentioned are available here
I know that the brand KMS makes one as well. Its good for the in between days and use it for your roots only. Great for after a workout and you don't have time to wash, condition, blow dry hair until you get home. good luck, thanks for stopping by...Nadia
Hi, This was a really useful post, I'm just about to start using dry shampoo on a regular basis to try and help cut down how often I wash my hair (I currently wash it everyday. The one I am going to try is called Batiste dry shampoo.
@Kloey7 Thanks, I'm glad you found this post useful Please let me kow how you do with the Batiste dry shampoo.....Nadia
I just bought the klorane dry shampoo last week and I love it! It works amazingly well. I got it from London Drugs, if that helps. Maybe they have it at a London Drugs near you? It's worth a look! :)
@Gamaci78 Let me guess, you live in Western Canada? You are sooo lucky, I love, love Klorane Dry Shampoo its my favourite. It smells the best out of all these shampoos. Thanks for telling me, I appreciate your thoughtfulness....Nadia
hi! I just came across your blog and I really like it - I am also from Canada so it's nice to see fellow Canadians out here in the online beauty-loving world. I just purchased a dry shampoo by Batiste the other day (at the recommendation of some beauty bloggers from England) and I love it! I got it at Shoppers Drug Mart. It's in a green & yellow spray can! Give it a try next time you're on the lookout for something new. It was about $8...
@Sandra,
Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the lovely comment. I'm happy when I see fellow Canucks blogging about beauty and fashion. I am definitely going to try and find Batiste at Shoppers, I didn't even know they carried it. Going tomorrow for sure!! Thanks. xx Nadia
